About
Contemporary Farm Barn - HD9
This shoot location is a recently completed milking shed conversion set within a private rural development in the Holme Valley, West Yorkshire — under two hours from London by train to Huddersfield, forty-five minutes from Manchester.
Light is a defining feature. The double-height entrance hall is flooded from above by a large patent glazing roof light, the galleried first-floor landing continues the theme, and full-height glazing with large sliding doors connects the open-plan kitchen and dining space directly to the garden.
The interiors strike a confident balance between heritage and contemporary, with exposed beams alongside a high-spec Daval kitchen, bi-folding doors, and free-standing baths. It reads as elevated rural living rather than show home or country pile. A lounge with a feature media wall offers a darker, more controlled environment alongside the brighter open-plan spaces.
Outside, a wrap-around garden, adjacent paddock and double garage provide generous room for production vehicles and exterior setups, with open countryside views in all directions and no neighbouring properties in shot. It also has access to a pretty communal courtyard.
