About

Larch House – DE56

A 1960'S Scandinavian style 4 bedroom house with mid-century modern vibes. This shoot location is flooded with natural light by day. Windows to the living area have no window treatment therefore a blank canvas for dressing and styling. It has an open plan, ground floor with Ash wooden flooring, sage green vinyl and concrete grey tiles that flow seamlessly throughout. White walls with birch-ply, box reveal windows. Gorgeous birch-ply window seat overlooking the private rear garden with turquoise window frame. Striking, large bespoke turquoise wooden front door with side-light, into a large entrance space with bench, leads to a hallway with curved white wall into the kitchen, living and dining space, where 3m wide sliding doors open onto the rear patio & landscaped garden. There is also a lounge with 4m width window, flush level hearth, white chimney breast and place for a stove. All doors are either Ash or painted, flush fit with matt black handles. There is a boot room shelved in birch-ply. A master bedroom is on ground floor with curved wall, all painted white with birch-ply box reveal window and 1.5m sliding doors to private patio under a canopy. En-suite is fitted with birch-ply bath panel and wash-stand drawers, teal and petrol blue matt metro tiling with matt black fittings. The small garden is landscaped and offers views back to the attractive Larch clad exterior and boxed window seat, with a paved area under a lit overhang to the ground floor. A great space for garden furniture and products or night shots. The house is furnished with either Mid-century modern or Scandinavian furniture and homeware that can be retained or moved to suit.

I am a freelance designer of Gardens and Interiors, and a part-time Gardener. Larch House has been recently extended, designed by myself along with endless days of DIY, with the help of family too. I love Scandinavian design and mid-century design and owned my own ‘Retro’ interiors and gifts shop in our local town. I feel very lucky to live in Derbyshire it is a beautiful county and the countryside is on our doorstep, while Derby, Nottingham, Sheffield and Birmingham are all within an hours drive via A38 and M1.
