About Victorian Reverie – SO14

Built in 1846 and overlooking Southampton’s Royal Pier, Graces is a beautiful Grade II listed Victorian townhouse. Known as Southampton’s most beautiful Victorian building, the house is in the heart of the historic city. Following an extensive makeover, the once derelict property has been painstakingly restored; the old bones of the building sitting alongside modern, artistic styling to create a unique canvas for location shoots. Creative design and unique props are dotted throughout and add a pop of personality to each space.

Enter via the dusky marble hall, below beautiful hand painted plasterwork in pastel shades, and a stunning pink chandelier. Go through the looking glass and find yourself in Wonderland, our triple-aspect grand ballroom. The natural light in Wonderland is enhanced by two spectacular chandeliers and a wall of panelled antique mirrors running the length of the room. Outside on the original stone terrace, from amongst old olive trees you have a view of the Royal Pier. If you venture back into the hall and up the grand winding staircase, there are three further reception rooms. Reverie is an intimate dining room with an oval dining table that seats up to 12, beautiful cabinetry and an antique French mirror above an open fireplace. Glide from Reverie into Whirligig’s chic bar area, with emerald green banquette seating. Head through to Graces, another magnificent reception room. Elegant, airy and fantastically light, Graces has three huge floor to ceiling windows, a beautiful muted wall mural and giant Alocasia plants, flanking an original open fireplace. Accessible through both Whirligig and Graces is a large balcony with fantastic views of the Solent.

The house offers a range of indoor spaces suitable for almost any creative brief, alongside a fully equipped kitchen and eight en-suite bedrooms for overnight stays. Because the house is not a residential home, restrictions for use are kept to a minimum, allowing you to dress the space to fit the job. Graces wows on every level.
