Congratulations on your first Styled Home Studios booking. To help things run as smoothly as possible we’ve put together some top tips gathered from some of our most experienced location homeowners:
“Print a copy of your House Rules and leave for the crew to refer to on shoot day. Make sure your hard copy also includes your phone number (and the wifi password too)”
“Walk around the property with the crew as soon as they arrive. It’s a good idea for you both to take photos before the shoot begins to help them remember where things go if anything is moved during the shoot or should any accidents happen.”
“If your floors are delicate leave a bag with protective furniture pads readily available – there are lots available on Amazon”
“We like to leave tea/coffee and mugs out for the crew to use as well as milk in the fridge”
“If you have anything that is of sentimental value, put it in a room that is off limits to crew”
“Make sure someone is on hand at the beginning and end of each shoot to do a walk around so that anything that might need addressing can be done before the crew leave”.
“Once the crew are settled, don’t hang around. This doesn’t mean you have to leave home though, if you decide on a room that is not going to be used for the shoot you can set yourself up comfortably in there. If the kitchen is being used for the shoot, make your meals in advance, order in or pop out”.
“Discretion is so important! If you take any behind the scenes photos and video make sure you check with the lead Creator that it is ok to share them on social media.”
Happy hosting!
