We’ve chosen our dream location for a campaign that channels luxurious slow living and relaxed glamour and because we’re talking about Christmas, we have a little gift for you: a walkthrough Woodland Retreat – NR27 styled for Christmas to inspire as you plan for your Winter 2023 shoots.
Woodland Retreat is a 3 bedroom charred accoya clad cabin, set in its own private woodland within National Trust heath in North Norfolk. It’s been meticulously built in the style of modern Australian and Californian beach houses, with light coloured walls, a mixture of light and dark wood cladding, micro cement and concrete bathrooms and micro cement and wood flooring. Everything about this location is high spec and thoughtfully put together, making it an ideal space for brands looking for an aspirational location with a warm, human touch. The cabin is full of a carefully curated collection of artwork, ceramics and carved wood pieces that were commissioned especially by the owner to complement the interiors, adorn the walls and fill the shelves and can be used as props during your shoot.
The kitchen is fitted with solid beech cabinetry by Sebastian Cox for DeVOL with open shelves which, in these images, have had a sprinkling of winter magic with floral styling by Lois Kingsbury (Lois is available to create show-stopping florals for your shoots at Woodland Retreat by separate arrangement).
The kitchen flows seamlessly into the open plan lounge/dining area that has custom made microcement banquette seating, the ideal setting for an intimate gathering or festive tablescape. The kitchen and living space work well for homeware brands because of the beautiful light and clean lines that allow products to shine. The variety of textures found across the walls, floors and furnishings are also fantastic for product shoots.
The centrepiece of the living room is a large wood burning stove – think cosy present wrapping with mince pies and hot chocolate (or champagne!). This area oozes laid back luxury that works just as well for loungewear as it does for glammed up party pieces.
There’s plenty of space for a big Christmas tree, which can be easily brought in through the large sliding doors in the living room that lead out to a beautiful decking area. We love the muted colours and sophisticated Christmas decorations and can see a Scandi style Christmas vibe working beautifully here.
Away from the decking there’s a fire pit and BBQ area, which is a romantic space for images shot at sunset and after dark, underneath the globe fairy lights. The fire pit is the perfect spot for lifestyle images toasting marshmallows in new outerwear collections and winter accessories.
